Tyler Reidy
RP, MMT, MTA
Tyler is a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and a Certified Music Therapist (MTA). He holds a Master of Music Therapy from Wilfrid Laurier University. With experience across schools, hospitals, long-term care, private practice, group homes, and community settings, Tyler brings a compassionate and collaborative approach that meets each person where they are. His work is grounded in creating therapeutic spaces that feel safe, respectful, and responsive to individual needs.
In addition to his work at Bloom, Tyler is a music therapist at Waterloo Regional Health Network (formerly, Grand River Hospital), where he supports children and families in pediatric oncology, the NICU, and palliative care. His clinical experience includes working with anxiety, early childhood development, medical trauma, grief and loss, and parenting challenges.
Tyler practices from an attachment-based and relational lens, integrating music, creative arts, and play to support emotional expression, regulation, and connection. His work is informed by training in music therapy, play-based approaches (including child-centered play therapy and sandtray), grief and bereavement counselling, and relationship-focused modalities. He is also currently completing the Canadian Association for Play Therapy (CAPT) Foundational Play Therapy Training.
Tyler is passionate about creating inclusive, non-judgmental spaces where clients can explore, express, and grow. Through creative and relationship-centered approaches, he supports individuals and families in building resilience, deepening self-understanding, and fostering meaningful connection.
