Land Acknowledgement
We acknowledge that we work, live and play, on the traditional territory of the Haudenosaunee, Anishinaabe, and Chonnonton Peoples. This land is part of the Haldimand Tract, land promised to the Six Nations that includes six miles on each side of the Grand River. It is a place where Indigenous peoples have lived, gathered, and cared for the land for generations and continue to do so today. As we acknowledge the land, we also recognize the deep and ongoing harms caused by colonialism and the legacy of residential schools.
This acknowledgement is not only about history—it is a call to action.

In the spirit of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action, we commit to:
#62 and #63: Promote Indigenous history, knowledge, and perspectives in education and community spaces.
#92: Support meaningful consultation, long-term relationships, and equitable opportunities for Indigenous peoples in our organizational practices.
#57: Provide education for public servants and organizations on the history and impacts of residential schools and treaties.
#66: Invest in youth programming and cultural revitalization led by Indigenous communities.
