Kari-Anne Eby

MSW, RSW, MT (Master of Teaching - Primary/Junior)

Kari-Anne Eby is a registered social worker who holds a Master of Social Work degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Honors degree majoring both in psychology and fine art. Additionally, she holds a Master of Teaching for primary/junior level students from the University of Toronto. She has also pursued further specialized training by obtaining a Children’s Mental Health Certificate. Kari-Anne has training and experience working with several therapeutic modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy.

Kari-Anne has spent over ten years working within community and educational settings leading art-based interventions for children and youth who have experienced mental health difficulties. In addition, she has over 5 years of experience working as a psychotherapist primarily working with children and youth. Through this work, she has gained experience supporting clients with a range of issues including anxiety, OCD, depression, emotional regulation, and trauma. She also greatly enjoys working with nuerodivergent folks and members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community.

Within her clinical practice, Kari-Anne takes a collaborative and strengths-based approach by encouraging individuals to recognize their own resilience, skills, and expertise. She prioritizes working closely with parents to learn what works best for the family and provides them with the relevant skills needed to support their child. She believes that parents are co-clinicians and play a vital role in generalizing the skills learned in therapy at home. She works hard to advocate for her clients within different community settings and is dedicated to ensuring clients obtain support for their needs outside of therapy in their every-day lives. As well, Kari-Anne has a passion for visual arts and the role that they can play in helping individuals find healing. Her calm and warm demeanor helps to make clients feel welcome and safe.
