Jaimie Rose
RP(Q), MMT
Jaimie is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and music therapist, holding a Master of Music Therapy from Wilfrid Laurier University. With experience in alternative education programs, inpatient mental health, long-term care, community wellness and paediatric palliative settings, Jaimie brings an adaptive and energetic approach to their work with children, adolescents and young adults. They strive to meet every young person and family with compassion, curiosity and person-centered care.
Coming from a musical background, Jaimie values the use of creative modalities such as music, art and play therapy to foster self-expression, communication and confidence within children and teens coping with trauma, grief, social isolation, ASD, ADHD, ODD and more. In collaboration with said creative means, Jaimie integrates concepts from other approaches such as Internal Family Systems, Narrative Therapy, Dialectical-Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Coherence Therapy to provide individualized care that recognizes every family’s unique lived experience. Jaimie believes a strong therapeutic relationship is one of the most important aspects of therapy, and emphasizes looking beyond a diagnosis and at the whole child as they live within their family, community, and society at large.
With a lived experience of neuro-diversity and 2SLGBTQIA+ identity, Jaimie is especially passionate about collaborating with neuro-diverse and queer youth as they navigate an ever changing world. They are committed to understanding what providing anti-oppressive care truly looks like in our current socio-political environment, and how such an environment directly impacts the youth and families they work with. Jaimie looks forward to working alongside your family to build a deeper connection and understanding of each other.
