Grace Ohrling

MSW Student Therapist

Grace is a Masters of Social Work Student at Wilfrid Laurier University completing her advanced practicum hours under the supervision of Melissa Fellin,MSW RSW. She has experience providing counselling services to children, youth and adults in a community mental health setting, and providing support for children with intellectual disabilities, neurodivergence, and mental health challenges in integrated and specialized programming. Grace has been a member of the Bloom team for over two years and is thrilled to be taking on new clients. Prior, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Honours Psychology with a minor in Family & Child Studies from the University of Guelph where she was a proud member and president of the Artistic Swimming team.

Grace is passionate about using her creativity and compassion to support the mental health and well-being of children, youth, and teens experiencing life transitions, school based stressors, social/general anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, peer conflict or social concerns. She loves to walk alongside others as they explore who they are, and how they want to show up as their truest selves. Her personal and professional experiences with neurodivergent and 2SLGBTQIA+ identities help her to lead with authenticity, understanding, and compassion. Her therapeutic approach is client-centered and tailored to fit each individual's goals and concerns. She integrates learnings from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and arts or play-based approaches. Her goal is to help your family explore the root causes of stressors or patterns that are preventing you from feeling their best, and to help you use your strengths to practice mindfulness, self-compassion, and emotional-regulation skills to work towards your goals.

Outside of Bloom, Grace can be found enjoying live music with her friends and family, trying out a new coffee shop and hiking trail, or working hard on a new sewing or crochet project. Just like her many houseplants, Grace believes we all can grow and flourish with the right support and care. She can't wait to meet you and to grow alongside your family.
