Olivia Holden
BSW, MSW, RSW
Olivia is a Registered Social Worker who holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto, with a specialization in Children and their Families. Olivia also holds a Bachelor of Honours Arts double majoring in Sociology and Legal Studies, and a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Waterloo.
Olivia primarily uses play and art-based approaches to working with children and youth. These creative therapies, coupled with her certification in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy with Children and Youth, create a unique therapeutic process that she tailors to each child and family. Olivia is a Certified ADHD- Clinical Services Provider and has completed training on: Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Techniques; and Adverse Childhood Experiences and Resiliency.
Olivia’s passion is for helping children increase their self-awareness of their strengths, behaviours, and emotions to feel more in control while navigating daily life. Olivia enjoys including the development of essential life skills in her therapy practice for children to maintain better mental health, keep positive relationships, and learn self-advocacy. Olivia’s expertise is in working with children experiencing challenges with ADHD, anxiety, self-image, emotional regulation, grief, school-based concerns, sleep concerns, and social difficulties. Olivia works closely with parents to help them develop strategies and parenting knowledge specifically tailored to their child to help the family thrive as a whole.
Olivia meets each child and parent from a place of respect, understanding, and compassion. Providing an atmosphere where clients feel comfortable, safe, and supported in the hands of an experienced therapist, Olivia looks forward to meeting each family as they start their therapeutic journey at Bloom.
